V0.35 Update

V0.35 is out! This version has been thoroughly playtested, edited, and polished. Most importantly, it's super fun. This version is the first version I consider to be complete. As such, it's now available for purchase through Lulu at production cost. My intention isn't to make money off of this game, but rather to make the best wargaming experience possible and share it with the world.

The following has been updated:

Boring

  1. Several spelling corrections

Rules Changes

  1. The Demolition mission on page 55 has been updated to:

    • space the objectives out to allow for more liberal terrain placement

    • Add a one point objective to make the game result in fewer ties

  2. Melee attacks can now target enemies within 1”. Units must still make base contact with the enemy if no enemies are within 1”.

  3. Troops in garrison no longer block the movement of enemies within 1”.

  4. The secret objectives have been totally overhauled.

  5. The take and hold scenario now scores based on the number of previous turns it’s been held by any player.

  6. Mission Objectives in general have had their points adjusted such that each mission, overall, awards a similar number of points, such that the importance of secret objectives is consistent across missions.

  7. To encourage more betting and more competitive betting, the winner of a strategic gamble now only spends the difference in the bets. Losers never spend tokens.

  8. Terrain can now be placed as close as 1” to get objectives, to help build more interesting battlefields.

Balance Changes

After a round of playtesting, as well as an update to the balance calculator to more accurately simulate combat between troops, all of the troops and commanders have had an update. The change in the balance calculator now better simulates how effectively a troop is able to blunt another troops damage output by killing off models within a squad.
Additionally, to make melee combat more engaging, Block and Defend have been increased and made more prevalent overall.
